The Swim Mindset Collective

Are you leaving one of your team’s most powerful performance levers untrained?

Start training your team’s mindset just like you train endurance, strength, starts, turns and underwaters.

Mindset content is everywhere. Mindset training is not.

X Books — Lots of good ideas, but difficult to fit into a swimmer’s training. Ideas get forgotten without ongoing repetition and application.

X Traditional online courses — Static and one-size-fits-all. Often don’t get completed.

X One-off talks — Can be useful in the moment, but there’s no ongoing practice or application.

X 1:1 coaching — Personalized, but expensive and not always specific to swimming.

X Social media — Plenty of ideas, but little structure for putting them into practice.

Introducing The Swim Mindset Collective

Train your team’s mindset just like you train everything else

The Swim Mindset Collective is different:

  • Season long — mindset training is built into ongoing training, not saved for championship meets.

  • Dynamic — new lessons and challenges keep swimmers thinking, practicing and applying what you learn.

  • Swim-specific — created by swimmers, for swimmers, with the realities of competitive swimming at the center.

  • Actionable — swimmers learn the concepts, then practice using them in practice and meets.

  • Individualized — one program for your team, but no cookie-cutter answers. Each swimmer builds their own personal mindset formula

  • Shared language — your whole team learns the same concepts, so you can reference them on deck.

What’s included

Foundational Modules

Five video lessons, about 15 minutes each, that give your team the key concepts and a shared language for the season:

  • Why Mindset?

  • Navigating the Championship Meet

  • The Four Challenges

  • The Swimmer’s Toolbox

  • The Formula 4 One™

The Mindset Set — A Private Podcast

Mindset training continues all season through short 3–5 minute lessons swimmers can listen to on the way to school or practice.

Each week follows a simple rhythm: intention setting on Sunday, short lessons on Monday and Wednesday, repetition and practice on Tuesday and Thursday, recap and reflection on Friday.

The Mindset Set is not motivational content. It’s mindset training.

Formula 4 One™ Workbook

Each swimmer’s working playbook for capturing what they learn, tracking what works and what doesn’t, and refining their approach as they gain experience. A mindset formula isn’t something you download from someone else. Each swimmer builds it themselves.

Special Topics

At key points in the season — before or after big meets, early in the season, or during major training blocks — there will be deeper-dive lessons on particular topics. These may include additional videos, longer audio lessons, worksheets, etc.

Coach Support

  • Weekly lesson preview — know what your swimmers are working on before they hear it.

  • Weekly coaching tips — simple ways to reinforce the lessons on deck.

  • Pre-meet mindset checklist — for your swimmers before big meets.

  • Monthly check-ins with me — share feedback and help shape future topics.

Ask me a question

What your swimmers will gain:

  • Know what affects their mindset — Understand what influences their thoughts, attention and performance before and during competition.

  • Know what to do when things don’t go according to plan — Specific tools and strategies for responding to fear, pressure, disruption and discomfort.

  • Discover what works for them — An approach that fits the way each swimmer thinks, responds and performs.

  • Refine their personal formula over time — Use what they learn from each meet to keep refining.

Swimmers go from feeling uncertain and reactive in high-stakes moments to consistently performing closer to their true potential, armed with a personal mindset formula you can trust, even when championship swimming refuses to follow a script.

This is for you if…

  • You’re a coach whose swimmers train well but don’t always race that way when it matters.

  • You want your team to have structured mindset training, without having to build and deliver it yourself.

  • You see mindset as something trained across a season, not fixed the week before a championship meet.

How it works for your team

  1. Email me about your team.

  2. Championship Performance Audit — a conversation about your team, your season and your championship meets.

  3. Your team plan — I put together a plan and pricing based on your team’s size.

  4. Launch — you introduce the Collective to your team, and swimmers opt in.

Nice to meet you — I’m Rebecca Renner

I’ve spent fifty years in and around competitive swimming — as an age grouper, a Division I athlete at Dartmouth, a Masters swimmer, and a swim parent who watched her daughter come up through New England Swimming.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that swimming trains almost everything. Except mindset. When it comes to the demands of racing — handling pressure, adapting when things don’t go to plan, staying engaged when things get uncomfortable — swimmers are largely expected to figure it out on their own.

I’ve combined my experience in swimming with over 20 years at IBM, where I learned to turn complicated ideas into something people could understand and use. Now I bring that same rigor to the part of swim training that has never quite been solved.

Mindset in swimming doesn’t need more inspiration. It needs to become concrete and actionable. That’s the problem the Swim Mindset Collective is here to solve.
